Rural Education Support

and Development

Buller REAP is an Education and Community service provider who empowers people by encouraging well being, knowledge, respect and trust through its relationship with the whole community by providing support, values, learning and services for life’s needs”

What is REAP?

There are 13 Rural Education Activities Programmes (REAP’s) in Aoteroa / New Zealand. The first REAP was set up in 1979 and the last in 1982. REAP’s provide a cradle-to-the-grave educational resource to rural communities, implementing a life long learning approach.

Each REAP area chosen was remote from major education providers. Each also had significantly large numbers of very small schools which found it difficult to provide an acceptable range of optional subjects.

In the ‘Top of the South, region there are REAP’s in Marlborough, Buller, Westland

Financial  MembersBuller REAP is an Incorporated Society. As such annual financial and statement of performance audit is carried out. Financial members are eligible to be nominated for a position on the Executive board. As a financial member of Buller REAP you will be kept up to date with the activities of REAP. You will also be entitled to vote at our Annual  General Meeting.
